Rattan armchair Contour: technical data
Very much in the spirit of what Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot of the AC/AL studio already designed for us, the Contour rattan dining armchair here again implements open canework "à la française" inspired by the Thonet style bentwood from the mid 19th century. The metal reinforcement of the footbase is adding a touch of modernity, avoiding the superfluous arches and ligatures normally used on rattan firniture. Designed at table seat height, this armchair can be used as a carver, an occasionnal seat or as an office armchair.
"In the designs proposed by the ACAL studio, it is the lightness that has won me over. Nothing is too much, everything is in its right place. The canes are linked by a set of curves without embellishment. The combination of rattan and metal avoids the need to add rattan, which is often necessary to make the structure solid. And the French webbing pattern adds transparency.
The CONTOUR armchair seduced me with its curves. It looks classic but the metal supports add a lot of modernity. It seems to blend in with the decor and immediately gives us the impression that it has always been there." Tina Ledi
Rattan armchair PLUS: maintenance
Remove dust with damp cloth or vacuum cleaner regularly. This item is meant for indoor use only. It is normal to see the canewok slightly deforming in a dry atmosphere. Moisten it, preferably from beneath, and it will resume its normal tension.
The Contour rattan table chair is suitable for private and professional use (hotels, restaurants). Not suitable for an outside environment.
