When you think of rattan seating, you think of its curves, comfort and lightness... Simple, easy to live with, natural and authentic.
Then there's the practical question: can you leave rattan outside? We have to advise caution. It's a natural material and therefore biodegradable...
The OUTDOOR collection in RESIN has been developed to combine the charm of natural rattan with a solution to the problem of how to use it outdoors.
Structure
ALUMINIUM is a light, rot-proof material, ideal for outdoor furniture. We chose it because it faithfully reproduces the curves of rattan. It does not rust. We protect it with a special paint that prevents it from corroding.
Weaving
THE POLYETHYLENE RESIN in our woven resin furniture perfectly imitates the colour and feel of a natural loom weave. We have developed these colours to faithfully reproduce the nuances of colour as well as the particularly fine diameter (2mm) of this natural material. It is produced by ECOLENE, a registered trademark whose commitment to quality and respect for the environment can be checked at www.ecolenefiber.com.
- It is not affected by cold, frost, rain, UV sunlight or mould.
- It can withstand temperatures ranging from -70°C to +70°C
- UV resistance tests have shown that after 3,000 hours of exposure, no variation in colour has been observed.
- Synthetic fibres have been developed to withstand rain, salt from marine environments and chlorine from the edges of swimming pools.
Our best guarantee: our experience...
We've been leaving armchairs outside all year round for more than 15 years without any protection (we're based in the north of France and experience a varied climate with rain, frost, sun...). We clean them every year with a high-pressure jet to remove the dead leaves and find that they haven't moved.
Our outdoor fabrics
The fabric used to cover the cushions is a synthetic coating: 100% OLEFIN. Its colour does not fade in the sun. It is water-repellent. It can withstand a little light rain. Water will slide off and it will dry very quickly. However, we recommend that you take the cushions inside as soon as the weather turns bad, to protect the foam.
Our cushions can be removed from their covers. For care, we recommend washing them cold, using a little Marseille soap if necessary, spin-drying a little to avoid breaking the fibres and air-drying.
