Emilie Ceriez (1982) grew up in Ghent, Belgium. She received her Master's degree in product design from the LUCA School of Art in Ghent in 2005 and began her career at Vandevelde, a Belgian lingerie company that owns the Marie Jo and Primadonna brands, among others. She decided to open her design studio in 2019 to focus solely on interior design. Since then, she has worked with many Belgian and international companies, including Dome Deco, Flamant, Restauration Hardware, West Elm and Weylandts. Her creations range from furniture, glassware and tableware to tapestries, in small series for small publishers or in industrial series for major brands.
In her work, Emilie seeks to create objects that are both simple and elegant, and pays particular attention to detail. She also aims to pass on her passion to future generations by teaching furniture design at the same school that trained her: the LUCA School of Art in Ghent.
